Calisthenics Skills Exams
For every member in Australia there is a Calisthenic Skills program for those who are interested. Members who participate learn a set syllabus (this varies from level to level), which they must demonstrate at firstly a Preparation Day and then during an exam. Members who successfully demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the syllabus (this can be demonstrated through movement, and a knowledge of correct terminology) will pass an exam and receive a certificate and badge.
The program begins with Sub-Junior and first year Junior aged members (Tests 1-3) and then works its way up to a Senior level, through Grades 1-4 and finally Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. Calisthenic skills provide an excellent basis for any calisthenics competitor. Grade 1 is a compulsory requirement for any member wishing to become an accredited Assistant coach. Grade 2 is compulsory to become a Level 1 coach.
Skills are now a compulsory requirement to compete in the CASA Graceful/Solo & Duo Competitions.
